What Budget?

We had a budget this month? Well we did, but failed miserably. I forgot about registering my car, oil change, baby food, formula, formula, formula and did I mention formula? We went over about $300. Eek! We will have to make it up next month...Also I bought quite a bit of food, which made it so we haven't eaten out all month except V-day and our friend's graduation party. Yes - I have cooked dinner every night this week. Yes, amazing. So we will have food to carry us into next month as well.

On a happier note, Josh has lost 15 pounds! He did this by just changing what he eats - I am a little jealous, but very happy for him! I am down 26 pounds. I know, it seems like I have been down this much for a long time, but I am back in the swing of things and determined to be down 30 by next weekend!

Lillie is just growing and we love it. It is no secret that I was terrified of motherhood, but we were blessed with such a great baby. Now she is growing - it is becoming better everyday. Today I was getting her toys out and she was playing with them and when I got her giraffe out so dropped the other toys and got so excited. It is so cute to interact with her!

Cub Scouts still exist?

Yes, Cub Scouts still exist. Thanks to my new calling I have learned that they do - I am a Bear Den Leader. Josh is very excited to have a reason to participate in the Pinewood Durby and in other activities.

Bears are 9-year old boys or 3rd Graders. Since I know nothing about 9-year old boys or Scouts, I am in for an adventure!

Little Miss Lillie's Latest Happenings

Can you believe that six months ago Lillie was born?? Time flies and we love having her in our life.

Now the weather is getting better we can take walks on the trails by our house - loving the better weather (Well technically it is bad again, but it was great this weekend!)
Lillie started eating solids this week. We had to skip the cereal because her body couldn't handle it - so we started feeding her fruit. She enjoyed her pears this week. Toby was also happy to help clean any up that was dropped.
Lillie is able to roll quite nicely now in any direction she wants to go. She plays well with her toys and they actually keep her entertained for a little while. She also watches what Toby is doing and loves to pull his hair. (We know he needs a haircut...we will use the excuse that we are waiting for it to get warmer...)

Other items we want to remember at six months:
- Lillie gets tired between six and seven - if you miss the exact time she is tired enough to go to bed, but not too tired to go to bed she will go right to sleep. Miss it and you are in for a long night and might as well head to the gym to walk her to sleep.

-She wakes up at four in the morning for a bottle and then goes back to sleep until seven - we are lucky, lucky parents.

-She still loves to giggle and smile, especially at kids. She is social and doesn't seem to have any stranger anxiety yet.

Don't we all have weeks like this..

This is about how I have felt for the past two weeks...time to get back to my goals and getting organized...

Summer of Races...

It has always been my goal to run a half marathon. Since I am not getting any younger, this is the year for me to do it! Since I have never participated in any races before I am going to start with a 5k, move to a 10k and then do my half marathon by the end of the summer. I have my eye one a couple of 10k and half marathons, but we will see how I do in the 5k. We might even make a trip out one and go somewhere for the race (this would be to avoid anyone I know seeing me do so bad :)

The first race will be March 12, 2011 - wish me luck!

The $230 challenge

Okay, so we overspent in January - I mean we really overspent in January. So for us to stick to our budget we only have $230 left this month to cover fuel, groceries, presents, etc. We started February 1 and here we are so far:

$45 - Gas for the Camry
$109.57 - Costco: diapers, pants for Josh (trust me it was a necessity - I am pretty sure the people at work do not want to see his bottom), oranges, milk, etc.

Which means we are left with $75.43 for the rest of the month - eek!

I will keep you updated to see if we can live by a budget!
